Fri taken to airport by 7:30, meeting Lulu at checking. Weather wet and more overcast than yesterday which caused the flight to be delayed by an hour. Picked up by Gerry at Melbourne and driven through city to Mornington peninsula to his house in Mt Martha.
Walked down to South Beach (15 mins) for swim and beer at cafe. Then back to see Selina and have a meal cooked by Gerry, who is my Master Po trophy housewife. Lots of wine and catching up, so I fell asleep on the sofa.
Sat lovely morning with clear blue sky. Sat outside sipping my tea thinking this is the life even though it's forecast to be 30 degC later. gerry drove us round the peninsula, up to Arthur's Seat and the viewpoint over al the bay with Melbourne CBD on the horizon.
Down to beach for swim in surf and sunbathe. Then off for lunch at a winery, but Gerry failed to find one and we circled around to Flinders for lunch at the Bakery. He dropped us off at the local shops on the way back, we bought some wine and had a coffee and we walked back up the hill - takes 15 mins.
Sun cloudy and windy start to the day. After a gentle start we took Lulu to Frankston to go into Melbourne. Drove round to try and buy me some speedo "budgie smuggler" swimming briefs, but the only ones we found were boring black or blue. Then we drove out to T'Gallant winery for pizza style lunch and wine tasting - food was nice but I thought the wine wasn't extra ordinary and too expensive. It bucketted down, with stair rods and thunder. Picked Lulu up, then lovely evening chilling out with chicken dinner and lots to drink.
Mon Said our goodbyes to Selina and Molly then Gerry drove us to the airport (1.5 hrs away). Easy flight to Sydney, taxi to transfer to intl terminal, then waited to checkin. Had fun finding evidence of Lulu's flight out of NZ but the check in lady then Cathy Office were very helpful and provided the evidence of her eticket. Had Japanese meal while waiting for flight to Christchurch.
