22 - 28 Sept: Pyrenees walking

Sat: Picked up MC at Carcassonne at 1pm and got the St Lary around 4pm after shopping at the local Carrefour.

Kitting up = Here we go again!

From Fecascon up towrd Col du Lustou.  Straight unrelentingly up till about 150m before the col where it was getting tedious and cold and windy, then down.  A good "warm up"...maybe too good!

12km 1,227m ascent

Mon: 7km, 851 ascent (1,429 to 2217)

Tue: Down past Refuge de Bastan where we had a snack and looked at the view

18km, 347 ascent (2,496 to 1501)

Wed:  Wet and cloudy over all region.  I decided not to sample to delights of Tarbes, but wandered round St Lary to find the hotel we had stayed in 35 years ago:

A lethargic recovery day.  Dinner in a la Malcolm's ham wrapped salmon.

Thu: 12km, 812 ascent

Fri:  Coffee and shopping in Arreau, Pau airport to catch 14:40 CityJet to London City, tube home by 17:30.
