29 August - 3 Sept

Monday 29 August - Bank Holiday Monday - Chris, Linda & Alice came round for a BBQ and we went for a 12.5m cycle ride to Sarrat, Chipperfield, Flaunden and Latimer,  Due to the garden refurb, the BBQ was cooked in the oven.  It started to feel cold, so we lit the fire and dozed in the sitting room in the afternoon.

What have I done?  In a moment of being swept up by the crowd, I joined Chris and Lulu by entering the Windsor Olympic Tri for next 17 June 2012.  When I said I wouldn't do one again.  Oh deary me....

Tue - Domestic duties, but did pick up Tandem from Ascot and gave it a clean and chain tighten.  Haircut too short according to Mrs M.

Wed - Quick cycle to Amersham and back for a bit of Kindling with GH.  Walked into vill for some shopping and to get my library card re-activated.  Another exciting day in the life of a trophy husband.

Thur - On the spur of the moment, went to see Horrible Bosses at the Rex (on recommendation of Linda).  DON'T - ITS A CRAP FILM, much much worse than Bridesmaids.  We walked out after 1 hour as it was getting worse, and we have a life to live.

Fri - Its Ground Force D day here at No 2 - Patio and garden in the final throes:

6pm - here I am sitting on the patio enjoying a beer in the cooling evening, awaiting G&P to christen the new garden layout...Duely  celebrated, we had the fish dinner menu at the Pomeroy, which is rather getting overwhelmed by customers:
then much more successfully cake and coffee at G&P's.

Sat - Joined neighbour Andrew for a charity ride organised by Juan, starting at 7am locally at The Gate pub for 100km out to Mentmore way.  Cycled with Andrew and Jen (who was awesome on a singlespeed bike up the Chiltern Hills).

60 miles in 4:17 bike time, 4:40 in elapsed.  Cherry joined us for a drink at The Gate where we greeted the other finishers (we were the first group to finish).  Then after 3 pints (oh dear where has the self control gone?) back to Darvells for a hot tub before going over to No 7 for Sean and Jeannie's summer party (its also a belated 50th for Sean and Cherry has baked a cake while I was out cycling).
